Benazir Bhutto was assasinated. I just found out that my dad was her brother's roommate at Harvard. Weird.

98% sure
I am almost positive I served Toni Colette coffee today. She's a fun celebrity encounter. I don't think meeting the big time superstars are as fun as the lesser known folk. Here are some other fun encounters I have had in the past:
Bob Saggit
Emilio Estevez
Bill Clinton
Julie from real world
Christy Swanson- yes, the original buffy
Orville Redenbocker (he even gave me a sticker that said "I met Orville Redenbocker")
Patrick Stewart
Ken Jennings
Ewan McGregor
Patrice Lafaye- hockey player for the Las Vegas Thunder
The girls from Ace Base (93% sure, but I was young and too shy to ask. But at the time that this happened it was my life long dream to meet them)
....there are more that I can't quite recall, but I am sure they were good ones too.
- 6 of these sitings have been in Coronado- I should keep my eyes peeled

April can only come too soon
Perhaps the worst feeling in the entire world is regret, and so I have always made a conscious effort to avoid this emotion. Is regret even an emotion? Anyway, I think part of the reason I am so indecisive is because I don't want to make the wrong decision and regret it later on. So I go back and forth, analyzing every scenario, making a decision, and then changing it again. I need to fix that. Well, I am sad and frustrated because I regret that I have submitted portfolios that I am only 80% satisfied with. There are two things specifically that I wish I would have changed about portfolio, but now it is too late. What kills me is that I can't fix the problem, I know what's imperfect but have no control over it. Also, this is serious- if a grad school doesn't accept me I will wonder what would have happened if I had included my sketches and made a two-page spread. All these architecture programs are intense, and while some schools are better than others, they are all competitive. It's really scary feeling like the school's decisions could really go either way. I will know every school by April, long time to have these feelings of regret.

I can see clearly now...

The past three months with Dan gone, living in a big house by myself, and dealing with the stresses of school/work/wedding, I had made myself numb. This was easier for me than feeling sad or overwhelmed- I just felt nothing, except I felt like a robot. Functioning, just going through the motions. Well the haze of apathy has cleared thanks to a magical week in Europe with my one true. I am now back in Coronado, Dan is back in Palo Alto, but at least we are in the same time zone. I feel again, I feel feelings of longing to see him, but I also feel happy. Here are some things that made me happy today:
-I mailed off the last of my grad school applications!
-Watching little kids and a funny emo (so five years ago i know) teenage couple ice skate at the Del.
-Ayn Rand
-I thought I bought regular veggie burgers from TJs, but turns out they are Tikki Masala veggie burgers...SURPRISE!
-I was able to wake up for my 4:00am shift at Starbucks
-I finished my magazine spread for my graphic design class
-Dan comes to Coronado in two days
-Sam W. sent me the rest of Dexter season two!!!
-I received a postcard from Dan's Copenhagen trip, even though I was with him in London when he back wrote it and mailed it.
Things are looking up! Now if I could just finish this stupid online math course so I can enroll in my next online course so I can enroll in Calculus for next semester, I will be a happy duck.

Milk...does my body bad
I have previously claimed that since going a vegan nearly two years ago I have developed a milk allergy. I haven't been to the doctor and don't have any hard evidence to support this claim, but the minor throat swelling after eating small amounts of dairy gave me cause to believe I was allergic. Well now I am absolutely 100% convinced (maybe 99% since I still haven't been tested).
Evidence 1
This is me almost two years ago (that is not soy ice cream). This photo was taken about two months after my conversion to veganism. I was told that Mitchell's had the best ice cream in SF so I gave in. I may look awful in this photo, but the next morning and weeks to follow I looked even worse- for I developed a terrible cold.
Evidence 2
This week while in Paris Dan and I decided to finish our vegan friendly lunch with a warm bowl of lentil soup. I was skeptical at first because it smelled like cream, but then thought, "nah, who puts cream in lentil soup." DUH! the French! Needless to say I have had a bad cold for the past 5 days. I must also note that this is the first time I have been sick since that evening at Mitchell's.
So there you have it. I am allergic to milk, my body has officially rejected this bovine beverage. The good news is milk disgusts me anyway. I have said it before and I stand by this claim. If I had to choose between eating a steak and drinking a glass of milk...I'd go for the steak.

To Do Lists
I absolutely love to do lists and apparently so does the rest of the world. I found this awesome blog all about to do lists, which I guess she (Sasha Cagen) turned into a zine and now a book! Its like post secret only she is collecting to do lists and not secrets- very interesting indeed! I really make lists for everything: pros and cons lists, what i liked about this year lists, day to day lists, week lists, hour to hour lists, i even have a list from over a year ago about why I like Dan.
Well, I leave for London in 4 days and I have a ton to do, so I thought in honor of this great trend I would share my to do list with all of you. One thing I learned from this blog/zine/book, is that it is much more telling to see a list written out as opposed to sent on the computer. I guess you can find out a lot from how you write your lists, like do you cross out your items or put checks next to them- little things like that. So enjoy this little peak into my next four days.

High on Life!

I bought a box of cinnamon Life yesterday and I had some for lunch, snack, and dinner. I just can't get enough! I feel disgusting and gross, but it tastes so good! Some people may not think that this is that unhealthy, but to me it is comparable to eating ice cream for three meals. The problem with eating so much cereal is that because I feel gluttonous and sick to my stomach I won't eat anything else- and as a result am depriving my body of other vital nutrients. I should give the rest of the cereal away or vacuum pack it so I won't pull this same stunt tomorrow, but at five dollars a pop I can't get myself to do either. I need to go for a walk.

you know what...
I am sick of feeling like I have to defend choices I make or things I do. I try to do the right thing and most of the time I feel good about the decisions I make, so why I should I defend it to anyone? Why do I feel like I need to explain why Dan and I are getting married in May- both to Mormons who raise an eyebrow at a long engagement- and Non Mormons who raise an eyebrow at a 'shotgun' wedding. Why when I say that I am going to visit Dan in London do I have to emphasize that parents will be there? Why when someone remarks with surprise, "you are Mormon?!" do I feel the need to defend that I am still 'normal'? Why do I feel judged when I explain to people that Dan will follow me to grad school? I am happy with myself, my beliefs, and the decisions I have made in my life- why should I explain myself to an acquaintance or stranger? I know everyone has the right to think what they want or pass judgment, but I don't understand it, I am generally very accepting.
The other thing that bugs me, actually this probably bothers me most, is that these strangers/acquaintances who pass judgment never say anything to me. But I can see it in their facial expressions, body language, or the way say, oh!?. If they would ask why I am doing something I would be more than happy to explain, but when they make assumptions and don't bother to clarify with me- I get really annoyed. Either talk to me or MYOB.

INkenSITY!
Tonight I went to kick boxing at 24hour fitness. Mind you it is 24 hour fitness, not boot camp. Well tonight I had an instructor who wishes it was. His name is Ken, but I am going to now refer to him as inkensity. Inkensity is about 5'7, huge muscles, tight wife beater, short shorts, buzzed head, and totally serious attitude. He kept saying super serious things (in a rex-kwondo type voice) such as: "This isn't MTV, this isn't QVC, this is HCTV- HARD CORE T.V.!!!", "If this were a picnic I would have brought hamburgers and potato chips, do you see any of those here!?", "I don't take requests, does this look like burger king to you!", and best of all "I am a TRAINED KILLER!"
At first I couldn't help but giggle in between my roundhouses and jabs, but when he caught me laughing he said, "Does this look like comedy central to you". At that point I decided to go with it. So when he yelled out, "do we want CHICKEN THIGHS!?" I replied, "HELL NO!". I ended each punch with a "HUH!" and each kick with a "HI-Ya!"
The work out ended with Inkensity saying, "repeat after me: 'I, promise Ken, to stretch when I leave- WOOF!'" I was the only person to woof and when I did so Inkensity responded with, "we aren't puppies!" he then woofed deeper.

one more thing
Note that in the picture below, the rats are clearly photoshopped- so amazing, so perfect!
gem of the day
In my search for volunteer opportunities for the San Diego catastrophe, I happened upon the Humane Society website. This picture graces its homepage. There are so many things I want to say about it but I think it speaks for itself. I will say this much though- it's both perfect and horrific.

MURDER OF CHICA!
Let me tell you a little about my town of Coronado. The "Crown City" is a small 'island', home to the Navy Seals, the Hotel Del Coronado (as seen in the classic film Some Like it Hot), and the famous blue bridge that spans from downtown San Diego to Coronado. It is a generally quiet, safe place if you discount the huge infestation of Arizonans in July.
Once a week while enjoying my breakfast I like to read the Coronado Eagle. The hot topic of this past month has been the 19 year old cat Chica. Basically what happened to this feline is someone passing by sa Chica on her porch suffering (the owner was not home). They called animal control to take it to a vet after the owner could not be reached. Three hours later the cat was put down. This had Coronado in an uproar! Letters flooded the editorial section about the murder of Chica- expressing grave disappointment in the city for allowing such an atrocity to happen- ripping an "innocent healthy cat" from her home. Now while I think the owner should have had a say in whether or not her cat was put down, I don't see why it is so unbelievable that 19 year old Chica may in fact have been in the process of dying when that passerby called the vet. I truly wish I would have saved and posted all the hate mail that has circulated in the Eagle this past month- they are priceless gems. Luckily however, I have clipped the best of them all:
Thank you Laurel Woolf, you have made a fabulous point, and I deeply resent that in addition to the Arizonans we now have THE CORONADO DEATH SQUAD to worry about.

i'm your pusherman
I went from unemployment to having three jobs and a potential fourth in one weeks time. Currently, I work at a 50s diner as hostess, expo, and ice cream scooper (mind you i applied for the server position) this job is ok, i don't mind the actual work, but the pay is poor, and the bosses aren't too lenient on sick days (both my trainers were dreadfully sick but not allowed to go home- how sanitary). They also aren't lenient on uniform requirements. They told me white tennis shoes, so I bought a nice pair of slip ons, boss said they were unacceptable and I had to wear these awful things instead
Imagine these honkers with this dress or a pair of skinny jeans- woof!
.
I have a second interview tomorrow with Starbucks, Starbucks is much more reputable than the diner, they pay more, and I can get bennies- Downside? early/late hours and I am Mormon.
So at first I thought as a Mormon I shouldn't sell a product that I myself don't consume (well caffeinated anyway). Then I came up with this rationalization:
-If I won't sell coffee why in hell am I selling mass quantities of meat and dairy (which I also don't consume)? Fueling America's obesity, scooping cancer-fueling casein onto waffle dipped cones. I feel more passionately about the negative effects of milk than I do about the negative effects of caffeine or coffee.
And this is what is so ironic about it all, if I told ward members that I worked at Starbucks I am certain I would get a few eyebrow raises and subtle remarks. But if I said I worked at a Diner and Ice cream parlor they would surely respond with enthusiasm. Now not everyone agrees that milk kills, but no one can argue that a gravy covered chicken fried steak won't kill you faster than a tall latte...so here's to hoping I get the job

It's written in the stars
Here is my horoscope today:
"Don't give up on your adventurous dreams just because they seem so distant and challenging to manifest. There is an essential theme to your life that must be honored by your actions. Consistency is crucial now, so keep your mind on your work, even if it is a challenge."
How relevant! And honestly my horoscope has been pretty dead on for about a week now. Thanks Rick Levine and I google for showing me the way.

These idle hands, they do the devil's working
Yesterday I decided to sit down and contemplate why I haven't been making more headway on my applications and portfolio. Here are the reasons I came up with:
1. So completely engrossed in Phillip Pullman's young adult trilogy His Dark Materials that I spend too much time reading.
2. Looking at random Cougars' wedding albums is too much fun
3. I told myself I couldn't start sewing shirts until I found a mannequin (but now that I have one, there is no excuse)
4. I have been so sleepy lately that I take long afternoon naps
5. I justify my undeserving relaxation time because I watch calculus videos while I veg.
6. I stare idly at the objects on my desk.
7. I surf the web until Dan gets online and we can chat.
- You can see why I have stopped blogging, I haven't been doing anything-
This needs to stop- I have to finish my portfolio and essays soon so I can have someone look over and proofread. I decided not to get a job or take more than one class this semester because I thought I needed all the time I could get- but clearly too much time just translates into wasted time. So I have come up with a solution. I will pack more things into the day and so I leave myself no choice but to use free time as Grad School time. Here's what I will do-
1. Babysit more hours
2. Take tennis lessons once a week
3. Join the Coronado Master's swim team
4. Go to church activities
5. Get out of the house and go to the library
6. Read only when nothing more productive can be done. For instance tomorrow while I wait at the DMV.

it's a date
I convinced Cathie to come with me to Arcade Fire, she's a good mom. So it's a date!
I have gone back and forth between three venues and three different wedding dates- who would've known it would be so difficult? We now know where we want it and the following dates are the only openings- March 7, April 18, June 13. They are all Fridays. June would work best for those in school or children in school because they don't have to worry about missing class. And it would kind of make the most sense for money and school and such. But June is so far away. So it's not a date! At least not yet. I have to think through this one.

I marked in my calendar about 4 months ago that wolf parade was coming to San Diego on the 15. Well I forgot about it and now they are sold out. I feel like swearing but I will put stars instead, Sh** like this always happens to me. This is like the 8th show in a row that I have missed due to something or other.
Arcade Fire in LA will be fun, but now I have an extra ticket to get rid of and that isn't really fun. I could scalp it when I get there I guess, but then I have to sit by a stranger and make awkward conversation. Anyone down to spend 50 bucks?

a good way to say goodbye
It had been four months since I had seen Dan. Now it will be another 3, but luckily Dan and I were able to spend 4 days together before he leaves for London.
After I flew into Palo Alto, Dan and I drove to Ashland, OR. On the way out we stopped at the Oakland temple.
Dan's grandma was the best hostess I have ever seen. She showed us around Ashland, introduced us to her friends, treated us dinner, got us fabulous seats at the plays, and had two lemon bars and two waters waiting for us when we got home at night.
Dan and I saw "The Tempest", "Taming of the Shrew", and a modern play called "Distracted"
On the drive back to Palo Alto we stopped at the Redwoods.

Then we made a stop in our city, San Francisco. We went to my old house and enjoyed the view of the GG bridge and GG park. Romantic things were said, Dan got on a knee, and written below us in the streets of San Francisco was this:
I accepted and now Dan and I are engaged to be married.

nomad
After graduation Dan and I traveled and spent a week in Las Vegas, a week in Palo Alto, then a week in San Diego. From there we parted ways and I went to Boston for 2 months, after Boston I packed up my suitcase once again and went to Brooklyn for a week, then Maine for a week, then back to New York, then drove across country on a 4 day trip with Jana. Finally got to Utah where I stayed for a weekend, then I flew back to Las Vegas for two days, drove to San Diego, and now I am on my way to Palo Alto for the weekend. After Palo Alto, the original plan was to move back to San Diego for three months and work on my portfolio and grad school applications. The prospect of unpacking my clothes is exciting and to have a home (even for only 3 months) is quite a relief. Just as I got comfortable with my near future plans, I get a phone call from Jessica McClintock asking me to apply for the head graphic design position. Now I am confused and torn again as to what to do. Will it ever end?
On a lighter note, I get to see Dan in 2 hours! It's been too long, and sadly, after this weekend he will be in London for three months, but still just to see him again is so so so exciting!

Baby D and me
Visiting my sister has been great. I love Williamsburg. The MOMA was incredible, I am so glad I was here to catch the Richard Serra exhibit. Harry Potter in 3d was pretty cool too. We went to this bar last night called Central Pool or something like that- ultimate hipster hang out. Before that we went to Gallery bar which was so fun, what made the night though was hanging with Baby Dayliner- a dream come true.

Found this photo of mom and pop from way back when. Compared it to Dan and me from last year. Funny similarity.

They are filming a Denzel Washington movie right outside the design school at memorial hall.

Harry Potter Extravaganza
Last night I left the studio around 10 and when I entered Harvard yard I came across a most unbelievable site. Hoards and hoards of muggles. So many muggles that streets had been closed off. The cause of all this mayhem? The release of Harry Potter book 7. In celebration of this exciting event, the band Harry and the Potters performed to an enormous audience of screaming and adoring fans. It truly was unbelievable. Too bad my pictures turned out horribly.

why is dan so great?
It is true that there are many answers to this question; for instance, he is really funny, he is great with people, he is the sexiest man i have ever met, he rides a cool bike, etc. However, today Dan's greatness stems from the fact that he gave me the one birthday present I couldn't find myself. I have been looking for this particular item for some time- searching online and off in several different states. And today I am now the proud owner of a perfect condition, Grateful Dead "American Beauty" LP. Dan also sent it in a nice album frame; how great is he! The only sad fact in all this revelry is that my record player is in Las Vegas.

7 July 2007
Scheduled for July 7, 2007; which is today, was a trip to LA for my boo and me to go see the Decemberists accompanied by the symphony. We had amazing seats; however, today I will not be seated front row, I will be sitting on the bus while riding to trader joes. After that I will be sitting on a hard stool in the studio for who knows how long. Enjoy our tickets Nicole and Dad Millson.
In better news, I just found out that Dan's really great birthday present got lost in the mail because the man didn't write my name on the package. Sorry Daniel, looks like your birthday will come late this year.

And it only gets worse...but not in a bad way.
I need to apologize for my last post; I shouldn't have complained because it has come back to bite me in the bum. For instance, last night I stayed in the studio until 2am when they made us leave and then came back at 8am to finish my work before review. After working straight until six and with only a diet coke and some grapes in my system it was finally time for the weekend. Earlier, our instructor had told us that there would be no studio assignment for the weekend, just our drafting project, well just as we were all headed to a bar for some celebration , she informs us that the higher powers have assigned some time consuming assignment due Monday. It never ends. Literally. Architecture is all I do now, I dream it- very very unhealthy. But it's great and this is an incredible opportunity and part of the reason I stay in studio so long is because I can't tear myself away. I love it. Now for some photos:

RHPS
I don't like Las Vegas. I don't like how materialistic the people are, the heat is sometimes unbearable, construction never ends, and most of all there is no culture. However, I just read that an old theater is going to start having midnight showings of Rocky Horror Picture Show every Saturday! How exciting! But I will be gone before I can experience it. How sad!

would you rather....
Would you rather be utterly stupid with nothing of importance to say to the world, but you do have the ability to communicate or absolutely brilliant, I mean know the answer to any question, know all the cures of all diseases, etc.; yet have no way of communicating your ideas to anyone?
Book on Ipod
I have been listening to book on ipod for the past three days. The Fountainhead equals thirty hours of listening time, and I am almost done. I listen to it while I go on walks, while I drive from city to city, while I clean, while I blog. I haven't had my own thoughts in the past three days, they have been Ayn Rand's. While I love book on ipod, I feel as if I am cheating myself of something. I will still buy the book because I like to collect the books I like, but it's not quite the same as reading page by page.
I made this mistake with the first book on ipod I purchased. I was driving some 13 hours from San Francisco to Utah and thought that a book on ipod would be perfect, so I bought Breakfast of Champions. This was my first Vonnegut experience and I loved it! I listened to it twice and thought it was just brilliant. Then some time later, during a book club discussion, Quinn asked me what it was like without all the pictures, I said "What Pictures!" So you see, while book on ipod is convenient, and listening to a professional bring the characters to life with clever voices is thrilling, something is missing.
I am going to run some errands now and listen to The Fountainhead while I drive. Once you start book on ipod, it's too addicting to stop.

AHHHHH!!
This is what I found on my doorstep when I got home. I think its some sort of omen because I don't know how it could have gotten there. It couldn't have fallen and it is in the backyard so a hoodlum couldn't have put it there. Really sad. I don't know what to do with it. I don't want to touch it.

not so sweet farewells
After a month long vacation filled with Dan and Caitlin time, we had to part ways. We will not be reunited until two and a half months. Daniel is now sitting in the SD airport waiting for his delayed flight to take off. And I am here watching Running with Scissors thinking of all the good times we have shared. I haven't taken many photos documenting our sabbatical, but here is what I do have.

it's been so long, blogger has been deleted from my history
Here's what's new. After graduation Dan and I went to Vegas, Amanda visited, it was really great. Then Dan and I went to Palo Alto, we played lots of tennis, went to San Francisco (the city of my heart), swam in the pool, and the Monson's visited. Now we are in San Diego, it is cloudy, Dan has a sore throat, but we are still having a nice time. We have played tennis everyday and really improving, we have also been reading a lot.
Here is my booklist for the summer, any other suggestions would be appreciated:
Animal Farm (check)
Great Gatsby (check)
Slaughterhouse Five (check)
Heart of Darkness (currently reading)
Bogombo Snuffbox
Fountainhead
Ana Karenina
Crime and Punishment
We are going to play tennis now, and maybe lay out at the beach and soak up some cloudy rays.

how bizarre, how bizarre
Yesterday I saw a bunch of weird things; unfortunately, I was not quick enough with the camera for most of them. On the upside, I was able to document this weird site I saw.
At first glance I thought, "Interesting, two identical cars parked almost symmetrically." Not too rare though, right? But it gets better. The license plates for the two cars are just one number off. Now that's interesting!

Graduation
After three weeks of serious stress I finally took my Contemporary Art final; now I am done...with college. Well I guess not really because I still have bookbinding but that entails just showing up and looking at everyone's projects.
Here are my thoughts on graduating:
- I will miss class discussions
- I will miss the feeling of handing in an assignment you feel proud of
- I will miss my friends, especially those I met this year. As close as we have become, I feel like there is so much more to experience together
- I will miss the joke of a newspaper, The Daily Universe
- I will miss the Monday and Tuesday crossword with Dan
- I will miss the perch
- I will miss the 79 cent cracked wheat and oatmeal breakfast
- I will miss Guru's and Fresh Food Junkies
- I will miss International Cinema
- I will miss the freedom of being a full time student
- I will not miss Belmont
- I will not miss the limited selection of restaurants
- I will not miss scrubbing my roommates dishes
- I will not miss Utah drivers
- I will not miss BYU approved housing
- I will not miss the Cougareat being closed for devotional
- I will not miss buying textbooks
I leave the 6th of May. It's all actually quite surreal, I feel like I just got here.

Cheney
I don't really know enough about current politics to decide one way or another with Cheney's visit. I hear contradicting things from different sources, my dad, who is perhaps the most politically up to date person I know, thinks that Cheney is terrific; while a lot of my friends who seem educated on the subject think he is terrible.
As far as his visit goes, I think that by asking Cheney to speak, BYU becomes partisan; however, despite one's politics, having the Vice President speak is an honor. Although, Cheney seems to be really controversial and so maybe its not such a good idea. Anyway, the point of this blog isn't to express my confusion, but to say how proud I am of my friends and fellow students for being so active: organizing a peaceful protest, arranging alternative commencement speakers, raising money for alternate speakers etc. And despite my uncertainty about commencement, I fully support all those who are actually out doing something, and in turn proving that not all Mormons think alike. Many people think of The Church as being demanding and inhibiting, but through activism we can show that The Church does allow open discourse and communication. I think its important that people fight (peacefully) for what they think is right, even if its on a small scale.
My home teacher said about the Cheney protest, "All I know is that I raised my hand in conference and sustained the first presidency. Therefore I support Cheney." This really upset me because it suggests that those who don't follow Cheney, or those who advocate peace, or even those who are uncertain, are unworthy members of the Church and don't support the First Presidency. Frankly, I don't think choosing the BYU commencement speaker falls in line with Gordon B. Hinckley's priorities. He is president of a world-wide church, with millions of members. Furthermore, Cheney invited himself.
In short, I applaud all those who are actively supporting a cause they feel passionate about.

long time no blog blog
i have been writing all my other posts in all lowercase, i don't know why i just thought it would be a good idea. now i think it is a dumb idea and so i am going to stop.
I am in Boston right now and having a marvelous time. I packed for summer and it is really cold here, bad luck #1. Bad luck #2- When I got to the SLC airport, I discovered that I did not have my driver's licesnce. Bad luck #3- So they had to do an extra screening for me and the TSA man broke my camera! It is completely broken and so I can't document anything from my trip! Bad luck #4- I was sitting in the hotel room to my edit the paper I am reading this weekend, and I realized I forgot my computer charger. A friend let me borrow hers but the internet in my room was broken so after about an hour of trying to figure it out an IT man finally came and fixed it. I hope my streak of bad luck ends before I present my paper tomorrow.
Besides all that mess, I am having a great time. Yesterday we went to the library John Adams personal library collection, it was incredible! Then we went to this amazing Bulkan restaurant. Today we went to the Museum of Fine Art and then to Harvard to see my pa's old stomping ground. Then we went to the Design School where a friend is in the master's of architecture program. Her group was picked to go to South Africa to design a community center for a group of really impoverished women who have made a living making beaded crafts and selling them here. Donna Karan sells them in her store!
I must apologize for how poorly this post is written, 1) i haven't been back in a while 2) i am really really tired.

dana schutz
my favorite contemporary artist is dana schutz, i am currently writing a paper on her and i just think she is wonderful. here's why:
1) she is young yet has established a reputation
2) her works are bright and colorful yet have gruesome subject matter
3) she makes up fictional narratives for her subjects, gives them life
4) i can understand it
men's retreat
autopsy of michael jackson
poisoned man
fanatics
