Winter break was fantastic, we spent half in Coronado and half in Palo Alto.  I will make some posts later, but in the meantime here is a little video

Portland trip

I am working on a new project at work now, which requires me to commute to Portland.  Dan accompanied me on my trip this Friday, and we had a great time.  First of all, I am so excited for this project!! I am working to document the design process for the Oregon Sustainability Center.  This means I get to attend the design meetings and be involved in the project!! Why is this so exciting?? The OSC will be the first ever triple net-zero energy high rise building in the world! Such an amazing project to be a part of (even if I am just an observer).

The Friday commute was great because I was officially done with school the day before. This means I spent the ride up crocheting a stocking and listening to music! Compare this to my Tuesday commute, in which I spent the train ride studying for my Building Enclosures final.

After my meeting, we did some shopping, attended the temple, and had a late night meal at Montage.

It feels so nice to be done with the term!

Found these on my phone, this is the Mighty Willamette River, just blocks from our house. I miss summer.

christmas conundrum

Conundrum 1) It's the season of giving, but what do you do when you find something you would like for yourself, for a one-day only super savings price?

Answer:  you get it anyway! (note the new present under the tree)

Conundrum 2) What do you do when you want to use the new present?

Answer: You wrap the present like they do in the movies!! note:  Dan didn't know what this meant (whhaaa?) but then I thought if Dan had no idea what I was talking about, maybe you wouldn't either.  Next time you watch a movie/show, you will notice that present boxes are wrapped as individual pieces so the person can quickly take off the lid without having to go through the whole unwrapping process (see below).

Using the movie-wrap, you can use the gift, then return it to under the tree, and still open it on Christmas.

look-a-like

Can you tell which is Dan and which is Ryan Gosling?

Ok, I guess it's not that difficult.  Dan is obviously the more handsome one on the right.
