i bought a homeless man coffee and coffee cake. which is weird because i wasn't in a particularly philanthropic mood today. actually i was tired, hungry, and stressed. and i am not usually generous with beggers.
he looked sad and asked me for some change for coffee. i told him sorry and that i didn't have cash. he said thank you and have a good night. without thinking i walked into starbucks ordered a coffee and snack and went out and gave it to him. it was so unlike me, but his eyes lit up and he was so so grateful. normally when things like this happen i go through a mental debate on whether or not i should give them money, but today it was like robot mode, i just did it. so i suppose that means the good deed wasn't fully mine, but i want to do nice things more often. he was so happy and that made my night much better.
