Barcelona- the arrival

| |

We are back from Spain, and had a fantastic trip! So be prepared for a ton of Spain posts the next few days.

We used AirBnb, and had a great experience. For those of you who don't know what AirBnb is, it's a service in which people can list their apartments for short term rental. You can either rent the entire place or just a room, depending on what the host wants. Everything is done through the website, and they actually go out to each host's apartment, take official photos and verify everything listed on their profile is accurate. We found that staying with hosts meant we got recommendations from locals, were able to stay in really great areas, and had access to things that we wouldn't in a hotel/hostel, e.g. kitchen, laundry, bikes...and for an amazing price. For example, our stay in Barcelona was £25/night for both Dan and me. Compare that to a hotel that would have been well above £100, or a hostel that would have been £80. Plus with a kitchen we saved a ton on food! So basically, AirBnb is my new ZipCar.

If you're interested in signing up, let me know and I will send you an invite link- this will give you £16 of AirBnb credit! Wooo!

Now on to some photos...

Our host in Barcelona was a talented artist/designer who had an amazing warehouse loft. We are talking a true warehouse loft, his is the only apartment in the building that isn't still used as a business warehouse.

Stay tuned for more...
